Services and Benefits Available to Members

ADVERTISING & PUBLICITY
All members receive a free listing and/or publicity in the following Chamber publications: Membership Directory available on our website, Chamber newsletter, various news releases, and member listings in various brochures.


AFFILIATE ORGANIZATION MEMBERSHIP
The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce holds memberships in the following organizations: Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Economic Development Association, and the Georgia Agribusiness Council. Information and applicable benefits as a result of the Chamber's membership in these organizations is made available to the Oconee County Chamber Membership accordingly. The chamber participates in other local, state, and national associations as the executive board deems appropriate.


SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS
Staff members of the Oconee County Chamber coordinate various seminars and workshops open to the membership. These seminars provide members insight into areas such as advertising, business management, communication skills, customer service, financial management, human resources, marketing and promotional work.


BUSINESS AND POLITICAL CONTACTS
The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce provides its membership with opportunities to network with fellow members and establish business and political contacts. Chamber members are also kept abreast of state legislative issues that affect local business. Members ultimately become a part of a "customer referral service" for future business activities.


BUSINESS REFERRAL SERVICE
Current Chamber members are referred to the public when requests/inquiries are made for the names of local business, professionals, service oriented organizations/businesses, and various product oriented establishments.


PROMOTIONAL DISPLAY AREA
Members of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce are welcome to display promotional material such as brochures, business cards, announcements, etc. in the board room of the Chamber office. Tourists, visitors, and business representatives visit the office daily and often request information about local businesses and Chamber members.


RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY
Upon joining the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce, new businesses in the area are encouraged to host a ribbon cutting ceremony at no cost to the business. Existing members who relocate, renovate and/or expand are also invited to hold a ribbon cutting celebration. Among the guest list are the Chamber members and staff, City and County officials and media. Businesses who wish to host a ceremony must contact the Chamber staff to schedule a date.


MONTHLY COFFEES / BUSINESS AFTER HOURS
Members of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce are invited to host a monthly chamber event to promote their business among representatives of other Chamber members. Also, the event provides members with a networking opportunity. Members who would like to host a mixer should call the Chamber office. The guest list includes all Chamber members who are encouraged to invite their employees.


WEB PAGE
The Oconee County Chamber's web page at www.oconeechamber.org is an interactive site that is promoted throughout the county, state, and nation. The site provides a member with a presence on the worldwide web as members are listed alphabetically and categorically. Member events such as ribbon cuttings and grand openings can be placed on the calendar of events.


SPECIAL EVENTS
The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce invites all members to participate in the Chamber's special events such as: Farm City Tour, AgDay, Fall Festival, Business Expo, and the Summer Event.
